Monaco is in a must win situation in front of this game, as the team still needs to get a victory in order to secure the third position and Champions League ticket for next season. Round till the end, they have two points more than Marseille and St Etienne and inferior goal difference to the side of Marseille, making this must win game for them, as already said.
Lorient, on the other hand, has nothing to play for, as the team comes from four matches in a row without defeat (having two victories and two draws) - positive run that saw them keeping the Ligue 1 status for the next season as well. However, no doubt that the team wants to say their goodbye to the fans with a positive performance as well - especially since they look like being in a great form, having scored ten goals in last four matches, including 4:0 victory over Metz away from home and 5:3 impressive performance away to Marseille.
Home side will miss forward Bejnamin Jeannot (31/7), but also less important offensive midfielder Valentin Lavigne (15/3) and midfielder Mathieu Coutadeur (11/0). Visiting side will be playing without central defender Aymen Abdennour (18/0), but also other central back Andrea Raggi (27/0) and substitute right back Almamy Toure (5/1), all being injured.
Monaco remains huge favorite to win here, however Lorient will be playing in front of their own crowd, much more relaxed than their opponents. Hosts will surely try to attack and see what happens, while judging by their current form, they should be more than capable of scoring here, as well as Monaco is.
