| Match result:
4-3 - Won
In this Bundesliga match Borussia Dortmund will host Werder Bremen.
Borussia are 3rd with 61 points. They have the same amount of points as 4th-placed Hoffenheim, but are in front thanks to goal difference which is better by four goals. That means that if they win here, they will probably finish in third place. They haven`t been very convincing lately, but they managed to stay unbeaten in their last five outings. In the last game they played 1:1 with Augsburg away from home. First half was pretty much even, with Augsburg having maybe even better chances than Dortmund. Hosts took the lead in 28th minute via Finnbogason, but the visitors were quick to answer with Aubameyang scoring just four minutes later. Second half has been mostly about Dortmund trying to score and Augsburg looking to keep a point, with the latter team managing to get what they wanted. Weigl will miss out due to ankle injury, while Gotze remains long-term absentee.
Werder are 8th with 45 points. They still have theoretical chances of reaching Europa League place, but that will be very hard for them even if they manage to win here. They were on a right path to do that, but having lost last two games, their chances have become slim. Last time out they were heavily beaten by Hoffenheim at home 5:3. Hoffenheim were quick to put themsleves in the comanding position, and by the 11th minute they had a 2:0 lead. Zuber added another one before half-time, and when they score two more in the first six minutes of the second half it was clear that Wedrer will suffer catastrophic defeat. They did managed to put themselves on the scoreboard, and in their classic manner they netted three goals before the end to at least decrease humiliation. Caldirola, Hajrovic, Fritz, Eggesteina and Garcia are injured, while Bauer is suspended.
Dortmund have to win here in order to secure direct entrance in the Champions League group stage, and coming up against on of the worst defences in the league, they should be able to do that. Werder`s defence has been leaking on all gaps during this whole season, and while they managed to keep some clean sheets during their unbeaten run, majority of them came at home. Also, they conceded nine goals over the course of last two games, which doesn`t look good coming up against one of the most prolific attacks in the league in need of points. On the other hand, Werder have scored the most goals aside from Top 4 teams, rarely failing to find a net. That is mostly due to their style of play which doesn`t change no matter what, ensuring them to find a net regularly. And the last game was perfect example of that, since even being 5:0 down, they continued to attack and managed to score three goals before the end. Therefore, I see them getting on the scoresheet here, but Borussia ultimately winning the game.
