1-1 - Lost
Austria Vienna didn't have any European duty during Summer, so their positive start is not much of a surprise, simply cause the team had all the time to prepare well for the domestic season and were focused only on that. After very poor season, their target is to get back on winning ways and to get the European exit this time. For now, the team does well, as they have four victories, two draws and a defeat, being currently at second position, only two points after from first placed Rapid. Most recently, they come from a narrow 1:0 victory away to Admira, while the team has three matches run with no defeat coming also from morale boosting 2:2 draw against Salzburg away from home one week earlier.
Home side coach Thorsten Fink can't count at right defender Jens Stryger Larsen and striker Ronivaldo, both out injured, but also both without a playing minute this season.
Ried, on the other side, is having very worrying start of the season, as the team has only four points in first seven rounds and are already at the rock bottom position tied up with ninth placed Wolfsberger. Only victory came two rounds ago against Sturm Graz at home 1:0, while the team suffered heavy 4:1 loss in previous round away to Grodig. Generally they perform poor away from home for years, coming from four straight defeats so far this season when playing away from their fans. During these four, they conceded fourteen goals and I can't see this game going in a better direction for them.
Visiting side continues to miss right full back Thomas Bergmann (3/0) and right midfielder Clemens Welch (4/0), both due injuries.
Austria should win here with ease, however I expect plenty of goals scored too - even from the visiting side. Over 3 seems quite tempting offered at current odds.
