Roma didn't have many problems in home matches so far this season, but the real task for them represented their games away from own fans. Anyway, they are now awaiting Empoli in eight round of Italian Seria A and anything but an easy victory would represent rather disappointing results for them. After seven matches played, they have four victories, two draws and a defeat, currently standing at fourth position, four points below league leaders from Fiorentina. Just before the international break they recorded two convincing victories, at home against Carpi 5:1 and away from home, against Palermo 4:2, both time demonstrating great effectivity in attack, playing for a goal more. They now need to continue in the same manner in order to improve the atmosphere and get back into the title race. Kevin Strootman, Francesco Totti and Seydou Keita remain injured, while good news for a home team is that striker Edin Dzeko has recovered fully and is available for selection. Mohamed Salah should cover the position of Totti this time.

Empoli, on the other hand, weren't anything special so far, recording two victories, a draw and four defeats so far, having earned seven points which puts them just two positions above the relegation battle. In the most recent match, they managed to get a late winner over Sassuolo at home in a 1:0 victory (goal scored by Maccarone in 88th minute), so the team won't be under pressure for this one, knowing that they can't get much against a side of better quality. Furthermore, their performances away from home have never been convincing, so the team will be fully happy with a point taken as well - although it's hard to see that coming. MIdfielders Daniele Croce, Riccardo Saponara and Piotr Zielinski are all sidelined, so the coach will need to make some changes there. Furthermore, striker Levan Mchedlidze (2/0) also remains sidelined with injury.

Both teams are yet to reach their full potential this season, but there is no doubt that Roma has much better quality and remains favorite here. They now have a chance to continue their good form and with Dzeko back, I see that coming in rather easy way for the hosts.
