3-2 - Won
Roma welcoming Bayer Leverkusen in 4th round of Champions leaue group stage. Their first match which was very interesting and with plenty of goals was ended by 4:4, and Roma now must go for a victory. They are at last position at the table with only two points, they got two draws, against Barcelona and Leverkusen and suffered one defeat against BATE that can cost them of knockout stage. Roma suffered defeat in last round of Italian Serie A against Inter on the road 1:0 and they also lost their first position in league, now are at 3rd position. Roma is now under pressure, they have imperative to win and everything except victory here will be failure, so they must play this match on very high level and win to stay in race for the knockout stage on the spring. Roma had solid season so far, they were leading team in Serie A and they suffered only three defeats in this campaign, one in Champions league and two in Serie A, against Sampdoria and Inter. Defender Elio Capradossi, midfielders Kevin Strootman, Seydou Keita and Francesco Totti will stay out of action for this match while appearance of Faniele De Rossi is also very questionable.
Bayer Leverkusen on the other side are at second position in group E with four points, they also must go for a victory in order to keep their position which leads them into knockout stage. They are also coming to this match match after defeat against big rival Wolfsburg on the road 2:1. They are playing in variable form in this season but currently are at solid 7th position, their main goal now is to stay in Europe for the next spring and to achieve that they must get some positive result here. They played against Roma three times so far and they are undefeated in those matches, they celebrated once and got two draws, they are now hoping that they can continue with positive results against Roma. Leverkusen suffered one defeat in Champions league in this season against Barcelona, and celebrated over BATE, now they must give their best to achieve their second victory that could be decisive for their placement into knockout stage. Midfielder Charles Aranguiz and Roberto Hilbert, defender Tin Jedvaj and forward Seung-Woo Ryu will miss this match due to injuties while midfielders Kevin Kampl and Lars Bender will also probably miss this match due to slight injuries.
This will for sure be very interesting clash between two solid teams, both teams must win, Leverkusen to keep their current second position and Roma to stay in Race for the knockout stage, both sides are playing good football in this season and I expect nothing less than at least same exciting match as their last duel two weeks ago and both teams to score here.
