Feyenoord won the Eredivisie last season to seal their place in this season Champions league group stages. They will fancy their chances of qualifying against the likes of Besiktas and Porto although it will be difficult but they have been handed a relatively fair group with Man City the favorites to qualify from here. They have started their domestic campaign with a bang winning all 4 games and scoring 12 goals. They realize this competition is different and they will have to take their performance up a notch to have any chance of seeing the knock out rounds.
Man City have put together a team which is the most expensive in the history of the game. They reek quality in any department of the team up till the manager. They have started their season brightly too winning 3 of 4 games and drawing the other which was a hard fought 1-1 against a defensively set-up Everton despite playing a man less from the 44th minute. Man City have dominated their opponents in games which is expected of a Guardiola team and they will control proceedings here also. They won over Liverpool by 5-0 scoreline, although made more easy by a Sadio Mane dismissal when the tie was 1-0.
Feyenoord are a good team, maybe the best in Netherland, but they play against a team whose ambition defeat just qualification to the knock-out rounds and expectations and I believe they will win this one fairly easily too. Players like David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Aguero cannot be contained. To beat a team like City, you need to defend like rocks and counter fast, but that is not the Dutch way of playing football and that will be their undoing here. They will leave spaces behind while attacking and City players will gladly exploit that and win this.
I reckon City should win by at least 2 goals here.
