I can't really understand the odds to be honest. Union Berlin showed close to nothing so far, as the team stands just outside of the relegation battle and in case they continue like this, it won't be much of a surprise if they end up in huge relegation struggle in last weeks of the season. They come from a 3:0 victory away from home against Fortuna Dusseldorf, in one of the best performances of the team so far. Wood had his best game till now with two goals scored, while the victory was sealed with an own goal four minutes before the final whistle. For tonight's game, they will miss one of their best players - Damir Kreilach (18/6), but also midfielders Stephan Furstner (12/0) and Adrian Nikci (1/0) plus couple of less important who are long term absentees.
Sandhausen, on the other side, suffered 2:0 defeat at home against Braunschweig last weekend. First halftime was quite passive from both sides, but the hosts upped tempo in second and deservedly took the three pointer with two goals scored in repetition. After this defeat, they are now on a run of three matches without a victory and surely that they need a positive result here in order to boost the morale further since the team remains just four points below the play-off placed Nurnberg. Guests will miss defender Florian Hubner (17/3) and offensive forward Ranisav Jovanovic (14/4). Midfielder Jakub Kosecki is doubtful.
As said, Union didn't show much this season and Sandhausen remains one of the better performers on the road.
