Valencia awaiting Granada in 1/8 finals of the Spanish Cup. They are coming here after division of points with Real Madrid in previous round of Primera in great match with lot of excitements, Valencia showed pretty good performances and deserved that one point. Real Madrid took a lead in 16th minute when Benzema scored while in the end of 1st half midfielder Gomes Andre was tripped in a box by Pepe and Parejo exploit his opportunity from white spot, so teams went on the break with 1:1. In 2nd half Real had initiative but in 68th minute Real's midfielder Mateo Kovacic got straight red card, and despite that Real had one player less on the pitch they took a lead once again, Gareth Bale was scorer this time with great header, but only one minute later Valencia scored also great goal. Paco scored after Rodrigo's assist. Valencia is not in their best shape but they have a great team and for sure will give their best to achieve positive outcome and reach quarter finals of the Cup. Valencia is currently at 10th position at the table in Primera and they must improve their form, in Champions league they have failed to reach knockout stage and now will continue with participating in Europa league. In last seven matches in all competitions Valencia achieved only one victory over lower ranked Barakaldo in Cup and they must go for a victory here and start with better results. Defenders Jose Gaya (12/0), Schkodran Mustafi (12/2), midfielder Sofiane Feghouli (10/1), forward Zakaria Bakkali (13/1) and goalkeeper Diego Alves (0/0) will all miss this match due to injuries.
Granada on the other side managed to reach 1/8 finals by eliminating lower ranked Leganes but now must play on very high level to at least stay undefeated before 2nd leg. Granada achieved important victory over Sevilla in previous round at home 2:1 and boosted their morale but it will be very hard now against Valencia. Granada is currently at 17th position at the table, only one position above relegation zone and they must improve their form in order to keep their Primera status for the next season. In 18 rounds of Spanish Primera Granada scored 20 goals but they must improve their defense since conceded 32. In last nine duels against Valencia Granada suffered 8 defeats and got one draw and it seems almost impossible for them to achieve some positive result here. In first 11 rounds in league Granada achieved only one victory, they showed some signs of improving but they must play match better in order to stay away from relegation zone. Granada achieved only four victories in league in this campaign, against Getafe, Bilbao, Levante and Sevilla. All in all Granada is not in their best shape and they would be satisfied to at least save their net here. All players are fully fit and ready for this match.
Valencia is favorite here, they have a strong squad despite currently are not in best shape, for sure will go for a victory here and try to take advantage before 2nd leg, while Granada is struggling to find their form, they are in really bad position in league and it will be very hard to keep their Primera status, I expect that the hosts will celebrate here.
