Oldham welcoming Millwall in 21st round of English League One. Oldham in in pretty bad shape and in last six rounds in league are without victory. Currently are at 22nd position at the table in relegation zone and totally out of the track. They must try to improve and get back on the track but it won't be easy against decent Millwall, last time they met in season 09/10 and Millwall celebrated in both duels. Oldham achieved only three victories in this campaign and they now must consolidate their squad and change something in order to get out of relegation zone. They were eliminated from all Cups and now participating only in league. Oldham ended previous season at decent 15th position and they would be more than satisfied to repeat that result, they must try to end series of bad results, so far they celebrated only once at home and i tells us enough about their shape. They scored 25 goals while conceded 36 and they must improve defensive skills especially. All in all, this will for sure be a very long and hard season for Oldham and if they don't show some improving of their form they won't be able to keep their League One status. As for absent players, defender Richard Eckersley (4/0) and forward Jonathan Forte (6/1) will miss this match due to injuries while midfielder Danny Philliskirk (23/5), also a top scorer left the club.
Millwall meanwhile is currently at 10th position at the table, after some crisis on start of this campaign they improved their form but in December have failed to retain consistency in their game. Now are coming here after being defeated by Barnsley on the road while before that achieved convincing victory over Southend 0:4, also on the road, and that was their only victory in last five rounds. Millwall is playing good offensive football, in 24 games in league they scored 36 goals but they must try to improve their defense since conceded almost equal number of goals 34. Millwall had a pretty poor previous season and was relegated from Championship, now if don't improve their performances won't be able to find their ticket for return into second English league. They were also eliminated from FA and league Cup while managed to reach semi finals of Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Millwall is in decent shape but they must show much more in order to try to win their promotion and return into Championship. Defender Ian Evatt (23/1), midfielders Angel Martinez (3/0) and Dan Jones (19/1) will stay out of action due to injuries, defender Drew Talbot (15/0) is having problems with injury and his appearance is in doubt while goalkeeper Alex Cairns (0/0) left the club.
Oldham is in pretty bad position and they seems totally out of the track and if don't show some improving of their form wont be able to avoid relegation, while Millwall is not in their best shape but for sure will give their best to earn all three points and at least retain their position, I expect open match an both teams to score here.
