Aston Villa continued with bad results in this campaign and how the things stands at this moment it will be very hard for them to keep their Premier league status. They will now host Crystal Palace in 21st round of Premier league and it will be very hard for Villans to earn some points here and end series of bad results. They got a draw against lower ranked Wycombe in FA Cup most recently and must try to win their placement in 1/16 finals in 2nd leg, before that were defeated by Sunderland and newcomers Norwich and I really don't see how they can achieve positive result here. Aston Villa scored least goals in entire league, 16, while defense is among the worsts at the moment. They managed to avoid relegation in previous campaign by ending only one position above red line, but now are in worst shape in their modern history and they really must show really outstanding performances in 2nd half of the season to get out of relegation zone and stay in Premier league for the next season. Aston Villa achieved only one victory in this campaign, it was narrow victory over newcomers Bournemouth in 1st round and since than suffered 14 defeats and got five draws. They seems almost desperate but must try to end series of bad results and for sure will give their best here in front of their fans to earn some points. Defenders Jordan Amavi (10/0), Alan Hutton (17/0), defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez (18/0) and forward Adama Traore (9/1) won't be able to help their team in this match due to injuries, while appearances of attacking midfielder Jack Grealish (12/1) and forward Gabriel Agbonlahor (8/0) are questionable due to fitness problems and slight injuries.
Crystal Palace on the other hand is in good shape, they are at decent 7th position at the table and showed decent performances in this campaign, most recently were better than Southampton in FA Cup and managed to reach 1/16 finals, before that suffered defeat in previous round of Premier league against Chelsea and it was first defeat after three draws and three victories. They are for sure satisfied with results so far and now will try to exploit bad form of Aston Villa and achieve another positive outcome in this campaign. Crystal Palace has positive record in duels against Villa, in last five games they achieved three victories, last one was in first match in this campaign, while suffered one defeat and got one draw. Crystal Palace have failed to score in last three Premier league games and must try to improve their goal scoring skills, they are facing with Villa which is in pretty bad shape but mustn't take them to easy and to achieve good result must play on very high level. We need to add that forwards Kwesi Appiah (0/0) and Yannick Bolasie (16/5) will stay out of action due to injuries while midfielder Yohan Cabaye (18/6), forwards Connor Wickham (9/1) and Dwight Gayle (7/4) have issues with injuries and their appearances are in doubt.
Aston Villa is in terrible shape, they are without victory since 1st round of Premier league and currently are at bottom of the table with only 8 points, 11 points less than Swansea who's above relegation zone and they must consolidate their squad and change something in order to get out of relegation zone, at this moment it seems almost impossible, While Crystal Palace is in decent shape, they didn't showed some great attacking skills in last few matches but I believe that here are closer to a victory than Villa.
