Manchester United host Sevilla with the tie still balanced for either team to progress. History and home advantage lies with United as they possess a brilliant array of attacking talent and they only need to reach their potential to blow Sevilla away in this game. They have produced three excellent showing after the 0-0 draw in Seville with a 2-1 comeback win against Chelsea followed by another comeback win at Crystal Palace before defeating a fluid playing Liverpool side at Old Trafford by 2-1. They showed how defensively resolute they can be with that display by nullifying the attacking threat of one of the most deadly trio in European football in the game and were unlucky to concede through an unfortunate own goal from the returning Eric Bailly who was otherwise faultless in the game. manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed Anthony Martial to be fit for the game and although we are not sure if he will come straight into the starting line-up, but he does represent an excellent option to have coming on later in the game when defenders are getting tired. Paul Pogba also trained with the team on Monday following a mystery illness that kept him out of the Liverpool game and it is unclear his situation around the club at the moment. They are likely to keep the 4-2-3-1 shape that worked so well against Liverpool with Lukaku as the focal point and Marcos Rashford keeping his place on the left of midfield with Sanchez and Mata roaming around Lukaku.
Sevilla were a bit unlucky not to have a lead in this tie and were denied by a couple of brilliant De Gea saves on that night in Seville. They are still in it though and know how much a gol changes the complexion of things. They have lost two of their four games after the United game and lost to Valencia at the weekend to weaken their claim for a top four finish. They face a bit of a defensive crisis with Corchia and navas out and might want to draft in Mercado in at that position. Miguel Layun is also missing as he is ineligible for this competition. A 4-2-3-1 formation is expected with Muriel in attack and Sarabi, vasquez and Correa behind him. Nzonzi and Ever Banega will sit in midfield for the guests.
This are the kind of nights fans of Manchester United dream about and I am quite sure it will quite an atmosphere inside the stadium. Few stadiums in world football can rival Old Trafford on nights like this and I believe United will rise well to the occasion and deliver another masterful performance to join the likes of Man City and Liverpool in the Quarter finals. I anticipate a lot of goals in this game with United well capable of scoring three goals themselves. They have been frail defensively of late and could well concede a goal but an excellent attacking performance from the host should ensure they win in an entertaining European night in Manchester.
