11th spot in English League One isn't some great result and Sheffield failed to reach higher spots there, however after really poor start in this campaign they showed really great improving and now after 17 rounds are at second spot at the table with six points less than leaders Scunthorpe and one match less played, tonight they will host Bury in 18th round and victory is a must in order to decrease difference between them and leaders and secure their second position. Hosts are in really great form and to this match are coming after five straight victories, i'm sure that will manage to extend their great run here since guests seems to be totally out of the track. After leaders they are second most effective team in league with 32 goals scored while defense did their job well. So far hosts suffered three defeats in this season and all of them were in first four rounds, after that they were defeated only in Checkatrade Trophy two times, they are now fully focused on league and must try to continue in same manner and at leas retain their position which leads directly into Championship for the next season. In last two meetings with Bury they were defeated but now i just doubt in that outcome, simple hosts are really confident and probably in best shape since this season started, it will be really hard for guests which are in terrible form to avoid defeat here. Defenders Chris Hussey (7/0), James Wilson (6/1), Kieron freeman (14/2), midfielders Paul Coutts (15/0) and Mark Duffy (17/2) are all in doubt for this match due to a slight injuries.
Bury on the other hand ended last season at 14th spot, however this campaign wasn't great so far and currently stands at 18th position with only two points more than relegation placed teams. Guests are in really terrible shape and in last 12 games they suffered 11 defeats with only one draw, most recently were smashed in previous round by newcomers to this league AFC Wimbledon while before that in FA Cup were demolished by same opponents. Now they are facing with team which are in totally opposite shape and i just doubt that can avoid defeat here. They were solid in attack so far but their defense must be improved, that is their biggest problem and with 34 goals conceded in 18 matches have worst defense in league. Guests seems almost desperate at the moment, their terrible streak must be ended as soon as possible in order to avoid dropping into relegation zone, they managed to find their form at one point and achieved six consecutive victories but after that they simple seems unable to confront to any team in league and now are facing with one of main pretenders for the title and promotion into one of the strongest second leagues in Europe. In this meeting with one of most effective teams in League One i just don't believe that can save their net, to earn some points and avoid defeat here must show great performances but i just don't believe in that. Defender Nathan Cameron (3/0), midfielder Kean Bryan (6/0), forwards Ishmel Miller (2/0) and Chris Brown (0/0) are all injured and won't be available for this game, defender Niall Maher (14/0) is suspended while midfielder Tom Walker (8/0) is in doubt for this match due to injury issues.
Sheffield did a great job so far, they showed much better performances than in last season and if continue with good games like so far i have no doubts that will win promotion, guests meanwhile are in terrible shape, they are out of the tracks and unless don't show some improving really soon they won't be able to avoid dropping under the red line, in this duel hosts are favorites and i have no doubts that will collect all three points.
