After two consecutive victories in Ligue 1, Monaco suffered 2:1 defeat away from home against Marseille last weekend. Even though the things have started in the best possible way for them, with Moutinho scoring a goal in first minute, the team collapsed in last ten minutes of the match, conceding two goals in last part of the game. However, it has to be said that the home team had supremacy during the game and somehow deserved more than a point.

With this defeat, Monaco again put their Champions League ticket under question mark, as they now have two points more than Marseille and St Etienne with two rounds till the end. This means that the team is in a must win situation against second from the bottom and already relegated Metz. Coach Leonardo Jardim has extended his contract till 2019, which surely has improved the morale boost of the team. They will continue to miss central defender Aymen Adennour (24/1) as well as forward Lacina Traore (8/1), both out injured.

Metz failed to show any signs of life when it was needed the most, as the team now has three consecutive defeats and have to secure the Ligue 1 status for next season. No doubt that the atmosphere has been ruined after such a development, with some of the players trying to find better club for next season, while the other part only waits for season to be finished.

In the most recent game, Metz suffered heavy 4:0 defeat against Lorient at home, being completely outplayed from the first till last moment. However, the team tried and looked dangerous on the field, having more of the ball possession, but the visiting side simply stood much better on the field, always knowing what they want with the ball, looking more than mature on the pitch. Central defenders Sylvain Marchal (17/0) and Guido Milan (23/1), right back Jonathan Rivierez (8/0) and midfielder Romain Rocchi (3/0) are all injured and won't be playing here.

All the competitive motive is with the home side, while the visitors only wait for the season to pass. Even if the visitors didn't miss two important central backs, I believe the home side would get an easy victory without having any problem in last quarter of the match.
